## AI capabilities

If you have footage, say "cut the first 10 seconds, add a title card, put some light music under it". If you have nothing, say "make a 15-second birthday greeting with a character dancing in a park". It does both.

Creating from scratch needs no queue because it is not running a video generation model. What the AI writes is a timeline — which character appears at which second, doing what, with what text — and the engine in your browser draws it.

Anything you can do by hand, the AI can do too. That is not a slogan: a test called manual-parity checks it item by item, and the build fails if something is missing.

## What the AI can and cannot do

**Can it generate realistic video of real places?**
No. It composes from drawn scenes, characters, text and shapes. Photographic generation is not something this site offers.

**Can it make a blurry video sharp?**
No. Enlarging cannot invent detail that was never recorded, and this site does not claim otherwise.

**Can it take a mark off a video?**
No, and it is not something we will add.

**What needs an account?**
Four things: AI subtitles, photoreal asset generation, 4K cloud rendering and cloud storage. Each has a daily free allowance.

**What works with no account at all?**
Everything else — all 72 tools, AI editing, and AI video creation.

**Does any of this send my video to a server?**
No. The assistant works through the project's structure — what clips exist, where they sit, what they say — rather than by uploading footage. The four features that do need a server are named above, and none of them sends your video.

## Exactly what is free

"Free" gets used loosely, so this page draws the line: what works right now, what needs an account, and how much of that is still free once you sign in.

No account, no usage limit and no watermark covers: all 72 video tools, AI editing, AI video creation, and automatic project saving inside your own browser.

This is possible because editing happens on your device, so we pay no server or bandwidth cost for it. Only the parts that consume our compute — speech recognition, 4K cloud rendering, asset generation — need an account to track an allowance.

## Technical facts

Most online video tools work like this: you upload, their server processes, you download. TutuCut has no step one and no step three, because the processing happens inside the page you are looking at.

Technically this rests on WebCodecs, the browser API that reaches the hardware decoder and encoder in your device. Muxing and demuxing use mediabunny, compositing uses WebAV — all JavaScript and WebAssembly running in your browser.

Three consequences follow directly: no upload wait even for multi-gigabyte files, no server-imposed size cap, and nobody can see your footage — including us.

Files leave your device in exactly three cases, each of which you trigger deliberately: saving a project to the cloud, 4K cloud rendering, and asking the AI to listen to a piece of audio. The first two land in your own Tutu Drive; the third tells you exactly which segment is being sent.
