How it works on a phone
- Pick a video from Photos or Files
- Trim by dragging a clip’s end handles; long-press a clip, then drag, to move it
- Save: on iPhone choose Save Video in the share sheet; Android downloads directly
- Drafts save themselves: switch apps and come back, the project is still there
Open TutuCut in your phone’s browser and edit — iPhone and Android, no app, no account. HEVC videos and HEIC photos from an iPhone work directly. Screen recording is the one thing phones cannot do here, as explained below.
The interface is built for phones: panels slide up from a bottom drawer, the timeline zooms with two fingers, and a clip only moves after a long press and drag — so a stray tap does not scramble it.
When you save, the iPhone shows its share sheet — choose Save Video and it lands in Photos; Android downloads it straight to the phone. The project saves to the browser every 1.5 seconds, so switching to another app and back loses nothing.

- Does it work on both iPhone and Android?
- Yes — open it in Safari or Chrome. Older iPhone versions cannot encode audio in the browser, so we take another route (WebAssembly encoding inside the page) and still export MP4 with sound.
- What cannot be done on a phone?
- Three things: screen recording (phone browsers do not offer it — record with the system recorder and drop the file in); full-screen preview on iPhone (Safari does not support element full screen); and very long 4K videos, which may exceed the phone’s memory — you are told plainly, and can lower the resolution or switch to a computer.
- Do I need to download an app?
- No. It is a web page. To open it from your home screen like an app, choose “Add to Home Screen” in the browser menu.
