An After Effects alternative: make text motion, picture-in-picture and title packs in your browser
Change the text and swap in your footage on ready-made templates, or write your own code. Free, nothing to install, nothing uploaded.
Start from a template
- Highlight title A bright highlighter bar wipes across a cream card as big letters drop in
- Kinetic slam One word per screen slams in while black, yellow and cream blocks wipe diagonally
- Lower third Name and role banner
- Framed media White-edged glowing window with a corner label; scales in and can zoom into a region (great for screen recordings)
- Photo wall Portrait photos pop in side by side, each with a caption
- Block countdown Huge numbers tick down, each pushing in a new color block
- Media-filled title Your video or image shows through giant letters, with a kicker above and a subtitle below
- Grainy gradient A slow teal-to-orange gradient with film grain — put it on the bottom track as a backdrop
- Live explainer window Rounded speaker window with a LIVE badge and name tag; the video's sound goes on the timeline too
One click opens the editor with the motion already added. For templates with media slots, drag a video or image onto the card, or tap “Use my files”, and it is already in place when the editor opens. Files stay on your device; nothing is uploaded.
TutuCut makes animated titles, name banners, picture-in-picture and photo walls in your browser, no After Effects needed: pick a template, change the text, drag in footage, export MP4, or write HTML / CSS / GSAP. Particles, 3D camera tracking and pro compositing remain After Effects territory.
Many people open After Effects just to make one animated title, one name banner, one picture-in-picture window or one photo wall. TutuCut has templates for these: pick one, change the text, drag a video or image into its media slot, and the motion sits over your video, ready to export as MP4.
Behind each template is plain HTML, CSS and GSAP; click “Edit code” to change it. If you write code you can start from scratch, or let the AI write it from your description. Fonts include CJK fonts, frames are rendered one by one in your browser, and preview and export use the same drawing code.
Where After Effects is better: there is no particle system, no 3D camera tracking, no expressions or plugin ecosystem, and .aep projects can't be opened. For film-grade compositing or complex effects After Effects is still the right tool; for everyday video packaging this is faster.

FAQ
- Can it open After Effects .aep projects or templates?
- No. .aep is Adobe’s project format and we can’t read it. Use our templates, or rebuild the effect in HTML / CSS / GSAP — describe it to the AI and it writes the code and puts it on the timeline.
- What motion templates are there?
- Titles, name banners, countdowns, data charts, picture-in-picture windows, photo walls, device mockups, split-screen explainers and more. The ones with media slots take your videos and images by drag and drop; every template lets you change the text and colors, or open the code and edit it.
- Can the motion be edited together with my video?
- Yes. A motion clip is one clip on the timeline with a transparent background, layered over your video; you can move it, trim it and change its length, and edit text and colors in the properties panel. Preview and export use the same drawing code, so what you see is what you export.
- Do I have to pay or sign up?
- No. Editing and exporting are free, with no watermark and no signup, and the AI assistant is open to people who aren’t signed in. You only sign in to save projects to the cloud.
- Does it work on a phone?
- Yes. Open it in your phone’s browser: picking templates, changing text and swapping footage all work by touch (long-press, drag), and export runs on the phone too. For writing code, a computer is easier.
