Screen recording needs the browser’s capture permission, which desktop browsers have and mobile ones do not. The editor has it, along with somewhere to put the result.
Recording a screen is something the browser itself has to offer — a page cannot reach outside its own tab without being handed permission.
Desktop browsers support it; mobile ones do not expose screen capture to web pages at all. Rather than show a button that silently fails on phones, this page says which is which.
