Frames are taken at the midpoint of each even slice rather than at the start, so a clip that fades in from black does not hand you a black first image.
One frame comes back as a plain PNG; more than one is zipped, so you are not clicking download sixty times.

What format are the images?
PNG, which is lossless. Each frame is exactly what the decoder produced.
Can I get every single frame?
Not from this page — a minute of 30fps footage is 1800 images. Pick a count that matches what you are actually going to look at.
Why not the very first frame?
Many clips open on a black fade. Sampling the middle of each slice avoids handing you a black image.
Are the images full resolution?
Yes, they come out at the source resolution.
How are they named?
The original name with a zero-padded number, so they sort correctly everywhere.
