Compress MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM for free. Pick a target — WeChat (25 MB), email (10 MB) or as small as possible (5 MB) — or set resolution and quality yourself. No upload, no watermark, no account.

A file too large to send is the most common video problem there is: messaging apps refuse it, email bounces it, uploads crawl. Compressing is simply choosing a point you can live with between quality and size.

You will not be asked for a bitrate. Choose “For WeChat”, “For email” or “As small as possible” and the settings are worked out for 25 MB, 10 MB or 5 MB, with the estimated size shown live. To tune it yourself, choose “Set it myself”; “More settings” holds resolution, quality and an option to remove the audio.

Compression uses the browser’s built-in video encoder on your own device, so not a single byte of the file is uploaded. MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM files keep their format; download when it finishes — no watermark, no usage limit.

FAQ

Will the quality get worse?
That is yours to control. At about a third of the original size the difference is usually hard to see; the harder you squeeze, the softer it gets. The estimated size is shown before you start, and the bitrate never exceeds the original’s, so the file will not grow.
Can it hit an exact size, like 25 MB?
It aims for it. “For WeChat” works the bitrate out from 25 MB and the page shows an estimate. Encoder output is not perfectly linear, so the real result lands a little above or below. If the original is already smaller than the target, the page says so and you can simply keep it.
How large a file can it handle?
We set no size or length limit. Because processing is local, the ceiling is your device’s memory and browser; if a file genuinely cannot be processed, the page explains why, and your original is not affected.
Does it wreck the audio too?
Audio is re-encoded at 128 kbps, which is usually indistinguishable for speech and background music. If you don’t need the sound, tick “Remove audio” under More settings and the file gets a little smaller still.
How is this different from other compression sites?
Most of them make you upload first and download afterwards — with a large file the upload alone takes forever, and your video sits on someone else’s server. Here compression happens in your browser: no upload, and no server-imposed size cap.
